Walgreens Expands Coronavirus Testing To Seven States And 3,000 A Day

Walgreens is expanding drive-thru testing for the Coronavirus strain COVID-19 to 15 new locations in seven states using Abbott Laboratories’ rapid diagnostic test.

The opening of new testing sites will enable Walgreens to test “up to 3,000 people per day across these additional sites,” which will be located outside the drugstores in “select hot spot markets.” The sites, which will begin opening later this week in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas, are considered good news given the slow response to testing for the virus in the U.S. compared to other countries.
