Many people and organisations still view cloud adoption mainly through the lens of IT cost savings, and supply chain-related businesses are no exception. I have much empathy for such a perspective, though, as a technology fellow in a cloud software house with over 30 years of market presence, I understand this is only part of the story. Having seen a variety of projects, our team is a strong advocate of using cloud as an enabler that drives speed, agility, scale, and visibility.
We realise it’s not only about the IT side of a supply chain, i.e., quickly adjusting computing resources and reducing the time and cost to develop and deploy new applications, but also, perhaps more importantly, about running the business.
