Walgreens Boots Alliance could face questions this week about a potential effort to take the global pharmacy chain private from shareholders when they hold their annual stockholders meeting.
Walgreens annual meeting, which will be held Thursday, comes amid speculation that the nation’s largest drugstore chain may be taken private in a massive leveraged buyout, possibly involving firms including KKR. The Walgreens stockholders meeting will be held at the Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware Thursday morning.
