In Nordstrom JWN -2.1%’s mantra, the customer always comes first. That philosophy reflects the fact that customers have always been recognized as the company’s most valuable asset. However, since the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the company’s stores have not been visited as frequently and many stores are relatively empty. The inability to provide the in-person customer service Nordstrom always been known for, has clearly challenged its business model. People are afraid of catching the virus and have stayed away.
