UPS has officially made its first dollar delivering prescription drugs to CVS customers’ doorsteps via commercial drones.
UPS’ subsidiary UPS Flight Forward (UPSFF) and CVS Pharmacy completed their first “revenue-generating” drone delivery of a medical prescription from a CVS pharmacy directly to a consumer’s home on November 1. This was followed by a second delivery to a customer in a nearby retirement community the same day and both flights occurred using the M2 drone system by UPS partner and drone systems developer Matternet.
