The environmental impact of deliveries is a top consumer concern, according to a new report from the International Post Corporation (IPC), revealing that 44% of online shoppers have changed their purchasing behaviour to be more sustainable.
Similarly, 49% of consumers stated that they would prefer their cross-border parcels to be carbon neutral. A further 70% said they wanted their packaging to be recyclable, 65% wanted reusable and 50% wanted biodegradable. More than half (55%) also stated that they would like e-retailers to provide clear information and instructions about how to recycle their packaging when shopping online.
