New York City has passed legislation that will set a minimum pay for food delivery couriers in a landmark law for the on-demand delivery market.
The move is likely to have big implications for the models of delivery apps including Grubhub, DoorDash and Uber Eats to change the way they operate in the City.
Several other US cities have taken steps to improve some of the working conditions of gig-economy workers, however none have gone as far as New York City and passed significant legislation.
