Walgreens is now receiving 1 million Covid-19 vaccine doses a week as part of the broader effort to increase vaccination at U.S. pharmacies in more than 40 states and jurisdictions.
The Biden administration is ramping up the number of doses sent to states while increasing the number of doses sent directly to U.S. retail pharmacies including CVS Health, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart and others. In Walgreens case, the drugstore chain Tuesday said it is receiving 1 million Covid-19 vaccine doses from “Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer this week as part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.”
