A mere 20 years ago, e-commerce was still very much in its infancy. For the most part, consumers were still going out to physical stores and purchasing items in the real world. However, in 2023, this is very much changing.

It is expected that this year, more than 20% of all retail purchases will be taking place online. In light of this growing trend, and along with the rise of completely digital worlds, or “metaverses,” brands offering virtual storefronts have become more than a promotional fad, and instead have blossomed into a crucial marketing vehicle.
