October 16, 2024

Quad’s Marketing Experience Innovation Center in West Allis, WI, signifies a major leap forward in the company’s shift from traditional printing services to becoming a full-fledged partner for retailers and consumer brand marketers. Spanning an impressive 906,000 square feet, the facility offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to elevate retail consumer experiences through cutting-edge technology and innovative strategies. This new center serves as a tangible symbol of Quad’s commitment to innovation, reflecting its ongoing transformation to meet the dynamic needs of the retail marketing industry.

The State-of-the-Art Demo Center

At the heart of the facility lies a state-of-the-art demo center. This space features mock-ups of various retail environments, including high-end beauty stores and general grocery stores. Brands can test and refine their strategies in a controlled setting that mirrors real-world retail conditions. Whether it’s experimenting with product placements or testing new marketing tactics, this demo center serves as a valuable tool for retailers aiming to enhance their consumer engagement.

The demo center’s advantages extend beyond simple testing. It also enables brands to visualize their retail concepts in a tangible way. By offering a space that closely mimics real retail environments, Quad allows brands to gain actionable insights into consumer behavior and preferences. This helps them make informed decisions and ultimately improve their performance in the market.

Package InSight’s Consumer Research Labs

Package InSight’s Consumer Research Labs, renowned for their expertise in biometric technologies, have established a presence within the new facility. Employing advanced tools like mobile eye-tracking and facial coding, the lab analyzes shopper reactions to various packaging designs. This in-depth analysis enables brands to fine-tune their products before they hit the shelves, ensuring they resonate well with consumers.

The integration of such cutting-edge technology exemplifies Quad’s commitment to innovation. By leveraging biometric data, Quad provides brands with a comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior, helping them create packaging that not only attracts attention but also drives purchase decisions. This focus on research and data-driven insights is crucial for today’s competitive retail landscape.

Introducing In-Store Connect

Quad’s new In-Store Connect service is another revolutionary feature of the innovation center. This service places digital screens and kiosks throughout retail spaces, offering a versatile platform for product promotion and information dissemination. Retailers and brands can use these digital displays to engage with shoppers, providing tailored content that enhances the shopping experience.

The practical applications of In-Store Connect are already evident, with a rollout in 15 Save Mart locations on the West Coast. More installations are planned, highlighting the growing demand for digital solutions in retail environments. This service exemplifies how Quad is adapting to modern marketing trends and offering solutions that align with consumer expectations for interactive and informative shopping experiences.

Store Visualization Services

The center also boasts Store Visualization services, allowing brands to create virtual retail environments. This tool is invaluable for testing various elements such as graphics, planograms, and product placements. By simulating these aspects in a virtual space, brands can experiment with different strategies without the cost and effort of physical buildouts.

Virtual environments also make the approval process for new concepts more streamlined. Stakeholders can review and provide feedback on retail setups remotely, making the development and execution of retail strategies more efficient. This service underscores Quad’s commitment to providing innovative, cost-effective solutions that streamline the retail marketing process.

Enhanced Production Capabilities

Operational efficiency is a key focus at Quad’s new center. Featuring the OPEX Perfect Pick HD automated storage and retrieval system, the facility ensures streamlined warehouse operations. This system can process up to 400 requests per hour, significantly speeding up retail display fulfillment and reducing time-to-market for these crucial marketing materials.

Additionally, the introduction of a 120-foot-long MKW kitting collator enhances the kitting operations. Capable of processing 1,200 poly bags per hour, this machine meets the demands of grocery retailers for timely and regular shipments of in-store signage. The efficiency gains are substantial, cutting the workforce needed from 14 to just 3 and slashing production time from nine days to 72 hours.
