Retail leaders are set to prioritise technology in 2022 in order to meet business goals and address their challenges, according to new research from Fourth.
When asked what will changes they will implement in 2020, the most popular answer among retail leaders, at 34%, was investing in more back-office operational technology to automate processes.
In terms of which back-office technology retailers believe are the most important, 40% said HR and workforce management technology, 39% said employee engagement and social collaboration technology, while a further 38% said customer loyalty technology.
A further 31% said implementing more in-store technology such as self-checkouts was also key in streamlining operations.
