Early Reports Show Holiday Shopping Finished Strong

The 2015 holiday shopping season ended with a bang, indicating that retailers were able to pull off a fairly healthy season this year, possibly beating the National Retail Federation’s prediction of 3.7% growth. While the NRF has not yet released its analysis, the MasterCard Advisors SpendingPulse found overall retail sales growth of 7.9 percent this year.

E-commerce sales growth was up 20 percent, according to MasterCard, a large part of what boosted the overall growth.
