Amazon “terminates” employees for sharing customer data with third parties

Amazon has “terminated” a number of employees who were found to have sold customer data to third party sources.

The online retailer informed a number of customers via an email, seen by TechCrunch, that their data including email addresses and phone numbers had been shared illegally.

Amazon’s customer service branch told customers that their details “were disclosed by an Amazon employee to a third-party in violation of our policies”.
