Amazon has plans to launch a new grocery delivery service in the US next year, similar to sector giant Instacart next year, according to a report by The Information.

Customers in the UK already have access to the service, whereby users of its popular Prime subscription service can order same-day grocery deliveries from supermarkets Morrisons and Co-op.

Amazon reportedly has plans to expand the model across Europe and into the US next year.

“Partnerships with other grocers enable more customers to shop online and allow us to provide Amazon Prime members with more choice, value and convenience,” Amazon spokesperson Jessica Canfield told The Information.
