Walmart, which recently told investors that it would be relying more on robots in both stores and its fulfillment network, is laying off 953 workers at its distribution center in Chino, California, according to a WARN notice filed with the state’s Employment Development Department. The layoffs are listed as permanent, though the facility is not listed as closing, per the filing.
Walmart didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
