Online grocery sales fell by 8.7% in to the four weeks ended 13 August, as UK shoppers spent £3.6 billion on groceries at convenience stores, according to new data.
NielsenIQ revealed over the four week period, total grocery sales remained strong, reporting a 4.5% growth.
However, convenience store sales growth experienced an uplift of 2.7% in volume sales, compared with supermarkets, which saw a 3.8% decline.
