Amazon will introduce a new capacity management system for third-party sellers using its fulfilment services that enables the option to bid for additional storage space.
Sellers will also be able to request additional Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) inventory capacity based on a reservation fee they determine, according to a blog post from the vice president of Amazon Worldwide Selling Partner Services, Dharmesh Mehta.
The aim of the move is to give sellers more control over their FBA capacity “while limiting unproductive use.”
