Prices, product selection and shipping are among the key reasons for consumers turning to online marketplaces for their shopping, as 70% of shoppers say they are the “most convenient” places to shop.
According to Mirakl’s State of Online Marketplace Adoption survey, the figures reveal that online marketplaces maintained strong growth in 2021, after seeing a huge surge in popularity at the start of the pandemic.
The global report, which surveyed 9,000 consumers, revealed that 70% of consumers see online marketplaces as the most convenient way to shop today. Just under half of all those surveyed have increased their use over the past 12 months, rising to 56% for Gen Z consumers.
