It is almost Monday, January 11 when all bills must be paid. Especially toy bills. It seems that several retailers may either need an extension to pay bills or seek protection from the courts under Chapter 11.
In past blogs, I have listed over 15,000 stores that closed in 2020 because of lack of business or weakness in business. That action presaged that companies were in trouble and that their managements were forced to carefully review their store base. As we start 2021, another realistic appraisal by management is needed to determine what additional stores may have to be closed in order to carry the store brand forward in this difficult period.
